How To Make Gold Text Effect In Photoshop

How To Make Gold Text Effect In Photoshop

Do you wanna learn how to create a gold text like this?

Yes?

Cool. Let's go.

1) I chose the Garamond font, black as the background color, you may choose whatever color you desire but I think, the gold text will look so much better on a dark colored background. Pick yellow for the text color and try to choose a tone that is not too bright or dark, just somewhere in the middle. In this screenshot, I pick code#DDC01D. I also include a custom shape next to the text just for the heck of it. If you wish to do the same, be sure to create a new layer for it as the text is on its own layer.

2) Double click on the layer in the layers palette as shown in this screenshot. A layer style box will pop up.

3) In the layer style box, tick Bevel and Emboss. Next choose Style > Inner Bevel and Technique > Smooth. Then just set everything else according to the screenshot. Don't forget to tick the contour box as well.

The contour box has its own options such as Range and Contour Elements. Set the range to 50% if its not the default setting and choose the following contour element.

4) Tick the satin box and set everything else according to the screenshot.

5) Tick on the Outer Glow check box. Again set everything else according to the screenshot. As for the Outer glow color (circled in purple), I Pick code#F6E914.

6) Final step. Tick Inner Glow, set the details just like in the screenshot. Inner Glow color is code#FFFFBE, I think this is the default color but if for some reason, its not the default color in your photoshop, use the above code to get it.

7) The end result.
